Mission Statement

Longmont United Soccer is committed to:  teaching technical soccer skills through continuity of superior coaching, instilling player confidence, offering a positive learning environment, and building a love for the game of soccer.  These core values operate as the foundation for developing our players to their highest potential.  Longmont United Soccer fields quality competitive teams and consistently produces successful, committed High School players respected for their successes and admired for their sportsmanship.

Vision and Values

Love of Game

Develop and promote soccer culture by:

a)      Providing opportunities to play quality soccer for all ability levels, ages, and genders.

b)      Promoting the enjoyment and understanding of soccer.

Sportsmanship

Players, parents, and coaches understand that how we conduct ourselves is far more important than game scores, standings, etc.

Competitiveness

By emphasizing competitiveness, Longmont United helps players build a foundation for individual and team success.  Competitiveness does not compromise the club’s foundation of sportsmanship and community.

a)      Individual:  “The Game is its Own Reward” - Skills improvement is the main way for players to enjoy the game.

b)      Practice:  Coaches integrate competition into practices, and players are expected to strive towards their full potential.

Community

We cultivate a sense of belonging, pride, and mission in the following areas:

a)      Team:  Team unity and sense of belonging.

b)      Club:  We are more than an association of teams.

c)      City and State:  We are a leader in the soccer community with Longmont and beyond.

Commitment

a)      Clarity of Purpose:  Parents, coaches, and players understand why they are involved with youth soccer and the commitment it entails.

b)      Commitment to One Another:  Interdependence with other players and commitment to the team concept of soccer.  Soccer is a team sport; not an individual sport.

c)      Commitment to the Beautiful Game:  Coaches and players will respect the game that is rich with tradition and inspirational for us all.
